The first set of intelligent power exchange system for electric heavy truck in China was put into operation

Data:2023-02-27

The first electric heavy-duty truck intelligent power exchange system independently developed by China passed the 100-day high-intensity test run, and was officially put into operation yesterday (22nd) in Inner Mongolia Huaneng Yimin Coal and Electricity Open-pit Mine, opening the process of power replacement for large engineering vehicles in China. During the 100 days of trial operation, these trucks alone will replace 6.3 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and directly reduce the diesel consumption by 1500 tons.
According to incomplete statistics, by the end of 2019, the number of heavy trucks and construction machinery in the country was nearly 15 million, and the annual oil consumption was equivalent to 200 million cars. If all of them were electrified, the replacement power would exceed trillion kilowatt-hours. However, at present, China's heavy truck electrification level is still less than 1%.
State Grid said that the next step would be to accelerate the promotion of this power exchange system in areas rich in mineral resources such as Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Qinghai and Xinjiang. It is planned to realize the electric replacement of more than 5000 heavy trucks in the mine by 2025, with the replacement power reaching 4 billion kWh.
